Preparing: 20 min. + Chilling or Night in the fridge + Baking: 40 min.

Ingredients

  • 6 eggs
  • half-and-half cream: 1 cup
  • 2-5% milk: 1 cup
  • Viking Farms Maple Syrup: 1/4 cup
  • Viking Farms Maple Sugar: 2 tablespoons
  • cinnamon (grounded): 1/4 teaspoon
  • pinch of salt
  • French bread: 16 slices
  • bacon (cooked and crumbled): 10 strips

Instructions

Take a bowl and whisk eggs, cream, milk, maple syrup, sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Now it is bread’s turn! Cover both sides of bread in the egg mixture. Spread bread slices on a greased baking dish into two overlapping rows. Pour the remaining egg mixture over the top, cover the dish and put it to the fridge overnight. If you want the French Toast Casserole today, just let it chill in the fridge for an hour.

When you want to serve the dish, turn on the oven and preheat it to 350°. Take the French Toast dish out from the refrigerator and bake them covered for 30 minutes. Open the oven and sprinkle the top of Casserole with bacon. Continue baking uncovered10 minutes longer, until it becomes golden-browned.

Now, the hot fresh morning-meal is ready to be served. It would be great to put some additional Viking Farms Maple Syrup on the table to make the Casserole moister.
