Maple-Pecan Popcorn is a super crunchy, nutty and pleasantly sweet snack! Candy corn is easy to cook, but difficult to stop eating. Several ingredients to process, a feel-good film and a perfect movie night is about to begin!
Total Time to Cook Maple-Pecan Popcorn – 20 min.
- plain popped popcorn: 8 cups
- pecan (toasted): 1 cup
- unsalted butter: 6 tablespoons
- Viking Farms Maple Syrup: 1 1/2 cups
- salt: 1/2 teaspoon
- cinnamon (grounded): 1/2 teaspoon
Combine popcorn and nuts in a large bowl. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment. Lightly oil a rubber spatula.
Melt butter in a heavy 2 1/2-quart saucepan over medium-high heat. Add maple syrup. Clip a candy thermometer to side of the pan. Add salt (1/2 tsp.) and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium to maintain a gentle boil and cook without stirring up to 25 minutes until thermometer registers 290º.
Remove syrup from heat. Stir in cinnamon, then pour over popcorn mixture, stirring with a spatula to help coat. Season with salt. Spread on a lined baking sheet. Allow to cool completely before breaking into bite-size pieces.
This delicious Maple-Pecan Popcorn can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, but don’t count on it – Popcorn will finish much faster!
