Ingredients
- pork sausage: 1 pound
- 2 thinly sliced apples
- brown sugar: 2 tablespoons
- butter: 2 tablespoons
- 6 eggs
- 2% milk: 1-1/2 cups
- all-purpose flour: 1 cup
- Viking Farms Maple Sugar: 2 tablespoons
- salt: 1/2 teaspoon
- extra-sharp shredded cheddar cheese: 1 cup
- additional Viking Farms Maple Syrup
Instructions
First, we need to cook our pork sausage until no longer pink. After they are ready put them aside. In the same ovenproof skillet, where we have just cooked sausage, combine apples with brown sugar and cook them in butter over medium heat until apples are little soft.
Now use a blender to mix eggs, milk, flour, sugar and salt, cover and process for 10 seconds or until smooth. Combine egg and apple mixture, after add pork sausage (whole or chopped) and sprinkle with cheese.
Time for baking, uncovered, at 425° for about 20 minutes. Our Cake should become puffy and golden brown. When it is ready, cut it into wedges and serve with additional Viking Farms Maple Syrup to pour on the top.
Easy to find the ingredients (just open the fridge!), easy and quick to cook! This filling morning Sausage-Apple Cake will get the whole family together around the table and make the good start of the day!
